aodbt began working on the multi-phased expansion and renovation to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) at the University of Saskatchewan in late 2003. The project entailed four separate major expansions, one new external building, and over two dozen different renovations and expansions. The various additions and renovations were designed to blend in aesthetically with the existing building, constructed in 1969. The project site was quite constrained by the programming; therefore, creative site and building design layout, along with prudent space allocation were required. aodbt worked closely throughout with the construction manager on the project to modify construction strategies and schedules to accommodate the multitude of complex projects and the phasing required to complete them. Our team demonstrated the ability to work with and provide assistance to develop a program that can at times be evolving.
