The Woodland Wellness Centre for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is a regional treatment centre designed to provide programs and services for women, men, youth, and families in Northern Saskatchewan communities. Blending western and traditional Indigenous approaches to healing and recovery, the Wellness Centre includes 24 beds for in-patient care, along with traditional healing spaces that are inclusive for all backgrounds. The Wellness Centre also has an Elder’s office and medicine room, a childcare area to support family programming; a family room; offices for counsellors, health workers, and other employees; a music room, a dining room and kitchen; multi-purpose rooms; and space for out-patient services for continuing care after the treatment program completion. Land-based education and healing will be offered through outdoor spaces, a sweat lodge, gardens, a greenhouse, and a meat preperation and smoke house.
