aodbt has maintained a longstanding partnership with K.C. Charities since 1992. Our collaboration began with the development of Columbian Manor. Opened in 1997, Columbian Manor was the first phase, offering 62 independent living units. In 2007/2008, K.C. Charities expanded Columbian Manor to include 16 additional units and 51 supportive living suites.
The most recent addition, Columbian Village, was completed in December 2025 and introduced 134 housing units and new amenities. Designed for accessibility and aging in place, Columbian Village consists of two six-storey buildings with one- and two-bedroom apartment suites, including 20 fully accessible units and 10 barrier-free units for low-income seniors with limited mobility. The addition also includes a beauty salon, library, guest suites, a family gathering room for up to 20 people, and a large common area that functions as a central hub for social and recreational activities.
A central feature of Columbian Village is the new 100-seat Divine Mercy Chapel, thoughtfully positioned to be accessible from both buildings to create an integrated campus. The chapel features high ceilings that contribute to a sense of openness, integrated acoustic treatments, and a calm interior palette. These elements create a welcoming environment for worship, quiet reflection, and community ceremonies.
