aodbt was engaged by Grain Millers Canada in 2017 to help manage operational growth at its Yorkton Milling Facility. The facility produces oats, organic oats, and gluten free oats to all major cereal, bread, cookie, and bar companies.

With growth and expansion in product lines and customer base, aodbt worked closely with representatives from both Grain Millers Canada and Yorkton Milling Facility to identify creative solutions to expand the main processing mill. The new mill is a six floor, 100’ tall precase concrete structure. The build received an award for its innovative design from the Canadian Precast Concrete Institute.

In order to adequately service the increase in production, staff and employee service functions needed to be increased as well. The new Employee Services Building provides additional space for training rooms, change facilities, laboratories, and sample storage.

Both the Employee Service Building and an Oat Mill and Warehouse are designed to connect to the original facility.

As a food processing facility, meeting all CIFA requirements for food safety and organization was a key consideration.
