Langenburg Central School is envisioned as a place of gathering—for the whole community. The two-story, 4,685 m2 school features a double-height central atrium circulation area and open-concept learning spaces allowing for abundant natural light.

The school features 17 classrooms, a flex-classroom /art, an IA/PAA shop, a home Ec./PAA classroom, a large gymnasium, a small gym/theatre space, a stage, and a fitness classroom/community fitness centre. It also has an open-concept library and multiple common areas. A distinct feature of the school is the accessible ramp – a design feature that promotes inclusivity among students. The large gymnasium and performing arts/music rooms are designed with different zones of access points to accommodate after-hour use by various community groups.

The bright colours of the exterior and its “building block” façade reflect the vibrancy and playfulness of the students. Ample natural light and interesting materials throughout the interior create a fun and relaxed space for students.

The school has been designed to target LEED Silver Certification. Interactive signage allows students to reflect on how they can make their school “green”.
