McKercher LLP’s new Saskatoon office in the Nutrien Tower at Riverlanding reflects the firm’s commitment to providing a modern, professional, and client-focused environment that supports both employee well-being and client experience. Occupying two floors in one of the city’s prominent buildings, the office was designed to reflect McKercher LLP’s identity as an approachable, confidential, and well-established Saskatchewan law firm.
The project was guided by a clear set of goals: to create consistent office sizes, improve proximity among practice groups, and foster a professional atmosphere aligned with the firm’s values. A Strategic Space Committee, made up of firm leadership and partners, played a central role in shaping the design to meet operational needs while reinforcing McKercher LLP’s brand and values.
The new space was carefully designed to meet the firm’s evolving needs, with a focus on technological efficiency and productivity. Acoustic privacy was a key consideration throughout, ensuring offices and meeting rooms support confidential conversations. The lobby offers expansive views of the South Saskatchewan River, while meeting rooms feature “switch glass” technology that provides privacy without compromising natural light or scenic views.
The interior combines rich walnut finishes with large glazed surfaces, complemented by a palette of charcoal, grey, soft white, and corporate blues. This neutral backdrop highlights the firm’s extensive art collection and contributes to a calm, professional atmosphere. Materials such as Carrara marble and walnut create a seamless transition from the elevator lobby, while textured blue carpeting subtly evokes the movement of the river, reflecting the firm’s connection to its local environment.
The completed office not only enhances the daily experience for staff and visitors but also supports McKercher LLP’s strategic goals of attracting talent, retaining team members, and delivering exceptional client service through purposeful design.
