aodbt, in partnership with P3 Architecture Partnership as Strategic Prairie Regional Alliance (SPRA), collaborated with the Government of Saskatchewan, the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, and Prairie South School Division on the design and development of the new Moose Jaw Joint-Use School in the Westheath neighborhood on South Hill, Moose Jaw. The facility consolidates Sacred Heart, St. Mary, Empire, and Westmount elementary schools into a state-of-the-art learning environment. The joint-use school is now home to Coteau Hills Elementary School and Our Lady of Hope Catholic School.
The school serves 900 students from both divisions and is designed to accommodate up to 1,100 students. It has two distinct wings, one for the public side and one for the Catholic side, each with modern classrooms and its own gymnasium. The school follows a cohesive design approach, creating an integrated environment despite having separate wings. Shared spaces include a kitchen lab, community resource space, Maker Space/Visual Arts Studio, and a childcare centre with space for 51 children. Coteau Hills Elementary School features a multipurpose cultural room, while Our Lady of Hope Catholic School includes a chapel. The learning stairs provide a flexible, amphitheater-style area for both formal and informal gatherings, teaching, socializing, and performances.
Consistent design, colour, and materials throughout the facility create a cohesive environment while reflecting the distinct identity of each school division.
