aodbt was engaged by the City of Martensville in 2019 to provide
prime consultant and architectural services for the design of a new multipurpose recreation facility. The design concept of the new facility was based on the feedback received from several months of stakeholder and community consultations. The proposed multipurpose facility is designed to be built in several phases over several years as funding becomes available.

The first phase of the project includes a hockey arena with a leisure ice surface. It will also include dressing rooms, a climbing wall, an indoor playground, a spectator lounge, a seating area, and a
kitchen. Phase 2 will include a second hockey arena with dressing rooms and spectator seating. Phase 3 will the addition of an indoor field turf, dressing rooms, concession area, and storage areas. The fourth and final phase would include a third ice arena.
The second floor in all phases includes seating, retail, multipurpose space, and offices. The concept includes a series of flexible multipurpose areas that can be used as leasable space, programming areas, or meeting rooms.

The project included an extensive consultation with the surrounding
indigenous communities to make sure all potential needs were considered during the design stage including space for ceremonies,
opportunities for local artists to display their work and space to display artifacts. It was also important to ensure it was known that the Martensville Community Centre was in being constructed for use by all communities in the area. As such, the site chosen for the project is located at an interchange for easy access for all users in Martensville and the surrounding communities.
