The New Living Unit #5 at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre (PACC) is a stand-alone facility created to address both current and future capacity needs at PACC. This unit’s design draws inspiration from the successful Tamarack Building concept at the Pine Grove Correctional Centre, with the goal of accommodating up to 144 male inmates utilizing double bunk beds. The two-story structure features a brick and metal exterior and is divided into four separate units, each equipped with its own outdoor exercise area. Positioned at the heart of the building, the central control room ensures excellent visibility and direct supervision of all four units by staff. Furthermore, the new building incorporates a Video Court section, complete with five holding cells and five video courtrooms.
