The new Urban Camp at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre provides housing and program spaces for 50 inmates, with the ability to accommodate an additional 25. The facility also includes space for 14 staff members and visitors.
This state-of-the-art building includes a mix of single and double occupancy bedrooms, totaling 50 beds, along with a communal kitchen and dining area, shared restrooms with individual toilets and showers, a laundry area, storage spaces, offices, a control room and reception area, meeting rooms, a cultural program/classroom space, and mechanical and electrical rooms. The facility has been carefully designed with sustainability in mind, targeting LEED Silver certification.
