Saskatoon Motor Products Dealership Renovation
Prime Consulting, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Contract Administration
In 2007, aodbt was commissioned by Saskatoon Motor Products (SMP) to undertake a comprehensive renovation project for their existing facility. This initiative was a vital component of their Image Program, encompassing both exterior facade upgrades and interior remodeling. Throughout the process, aodbt played a pivotal role in coordinating between SMP’s ownership and the Image Program design team to ensure that the design aligned with the franchise’s intent.
The exterior received a substantial transformation, with re-cladding and material selections adhering to the new branding guidelines. Internally, a major focus was placed on enhancing operational efficiency by upgrading all mechanical and electrical systems. While the floor plan retained its original layout, every interior finish was refreshed. The sales floor benefited from new furniture and workstations, and a customer lounge, complete with a fireplace and coffee bar, was introduced to elevate customer service.
The renovation also extended to the retail parts area and various components of the body shop, with a practical approach taken to update only the essential elements. This effort ensured compliance with all Image Program requirements, resulting in a dealership that authentically embodies the franchise’s identity. Following the completion of the dealership renovation, SMP engaged aodbt again to design a stand-alone building for the pre-owned vehicles on the same lot.
