The Warman Home Centre Communiplex (formerly The Legends Centre) is a multipurpose recreation facility that serves the community of Warman and its surrounding area. This project is the result of a partnership between the Province of Saskatchewan, the City of Warman, Prairie Spirit School Division, and the communities of Hepburn, Osler, and Rosthern. aodbt played a role in exploring community partnerships through developing an initial feasibility study, facilitating community presentations, assisting during fundraising, and finalizing the design for the entire complex.

The facility is designed to host a variety of organized events and spontaneous activities. The full-size arena has an ice surface of 85’ x 200’ and features tiered seating for 1,178 and 500 standing. The arena has been hosting numerous events from the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades exhibition games, SJHL Hockey Showcase, minor and recreation hockey tournaments, speed skating, ringette, and Skate Canada events. There are 12 dressing rooms (two of which are accessible), a referee room, and a first aid room. The facility also includes a leisure ice surface, two gymnasiums with multipurpose sports courts, a second-level viewing gallery, fitness areas, multipurpose rooms, and a food and beverage area. The building is connected to the Warman Community Middle School which shares access to the Communiplex’s gymnasiums, arena, and outdoor playfields.

The project was designed to integrate the ice plant discharge heat into the heating system of the attached Warman Community Middle School. This has led to significant operational savings for the school and the Communiplex.
